Gods People Doing Gods Work

About us

 VISION STATEMENT
We the members of River Rock Baptist Church, are a body of believers who worship God, share Jesus Christ, and disciple believers, sending them out to ministry. We envision faithfully serving our lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, and the community we reside in by developing, sustaining, and serving as a Bible centered, evangelically motivated, and exceptionally friendly church as a beacon to the community.

CORE VALUES
River Rock Baptist Church is a Southern Baptist Church that strongly believes in and will consistently strive for:

1. Bible-based Preaching, Teaching and Ministry
We value the scriptures as our ultimate authority in all matter of doctrine and operating principles.

"All scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the man of God be thoroughly equipped for every good work." (2 Timothy 3:16-17 NIV)

2. Steadfast Prayer
We value individual, small group, and corporate prayer opportunities that seek God's intervention, revelation, and guidance in all activities and ministries, and in the lives of individuals.

"Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." (James 5:16 N1V)

"Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful." (Colossians 4:2 NIV)

3. Comprehensive Discipleship
We value Bible study and ministry-equipping opportunities designed to encourage and challenge individual growth leading to corporate service.

"It was he who gave some to be apostles, some to be prophets, some to be evangelists, and some to be pastors and teachers, to prepare God's people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up until we all reach unity in the faith and in the knowledge of the Son of God and become mature, attaining to the whole measure of the fullness of Christ. Then we will no longer be infants, tossed back and forth by the waves, and blown here and there by every wind of teaching, and by the sunning and craftiness of men in their deceitful scheming. Instead, speaking the truth in love, we will in all things grow into him who is the head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work." (Ephesians 4:11-16 NIV)

"...be strong in the grace that is in Christ Jesus. And the things you have heard me say in the presence of many witnesses entrust to reliable men who will also be qualified to teach others." (2 Timothy 2:1-2 NIV)

4. Intentional Evangelism
We value ministries and activities that have as their ultimate goal the work-ship of God the Father exalting the name of Jesus Christ and drawing persons to salvation through the revelation of the Holy Spirit, believing that we can impact our community and the world for Christ.

"Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And
surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age." (Matthew 28:19-20 NIV)

"But you shall receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be witness to ME in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria and to the end of the earth." (Acts 1:8 NIV)

5. Servant Leadership
We value empowered, accountable, Spirit-filled leaders who embody the "attitude of Christ".

"...Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who rules like the one who serves." (Luke 22:26 NIV)

"Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus." (Philippians 2:5 NIV)

6. Unified Fellowship
We value a loving, sharing, giving body of believers who demonstrate unity in doctrine and love in all matters.

"They devoted themselves to the apostles' teaching and to the fellowship, to the breaking of bread, and to prayer... Every day, they continued to meet together in the temple courts. They broke bread in their homes and ate together with glad and sincere hearts, praising God and enjoying the favor of all people. And the Lord added to their number daily those who were being saved." (Acts 2:42-47 NIV)

"...bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace." (Ephesians 4:2-3 NIV)

7. Joyful, Transforming Worship
We value Holy Spirit led praise and worship that exalts and honors God and provides the opportunity for a transforming encounter with Him.

"Shout for joy to the Lord; all the earth. Worship the Lord with gladness; come before him with joyful songs. Know that the Lord is God. It is he who made us, and we are his; we are his people, the sheep of his pasture. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise; give thanks to him and praise his name. For the Lord is good and his love endures forever; his faithfulness continues through all generations." (Psalm 100 NIV)

8. Faithful Stewardship
We value concerted efforts to use the resources provided by God (facilities, finances, people) in accordance with his will.

"Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this," says the Lord Almighty. "And see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that you will not have room enough for it." (Malachi 3:10 NIV)

"Moreover it is required in stewards that one be found faithful. (I Corinthians 4:2 NIV)

9. Effective Communication
We value consistent effort for clear and effective communication among and between staff, ministry teams, and the Church Body.

"An unreliable messenger can cause a lot of trouble. Reliable communication permits progress." (Proverbs 13:17 NIV)

10. Commitment to Excellence
We value giving God our best in everything we do.

"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving." (Colossians 3:23-24 NIV)

11. Cultural Relevance
We value strategies designed to communicate the gospel to any culture in which we are called to minister.

"To the Jews, I became like a Jew, to win the Jews. To those under the law I became like one under the law (though I myself am not under the law), so as to win those under the law. To those not having the law, I became like one not having the law (though I am not free from God's law but am under Christ's law), so as to win those not having the law. To the weak I became Weak, to win the weak. I have become all things to all men so that by all possible means I might save some. I do all this for the sake of the gospel that I may share in its blessings." (1 Corinthians 9:20-23 NIV)

In this new life, one's nationality or race or education or social position is unimportant; such means nothing. Whether a person has Christ is what matters, and he is equally available to all." (Colossians 3:11 NIV)
